The seven lamps are to give light in front of the lampstand. The lamps need to burn continuously. Only the best oil was used to light the lamp.
Description
The Menorah was crafted out of one beaten work, made of pure gold.
Revelation 1:20 tells us exactly what the Menorah represents: “The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” The menorah represents the Ecclesia, but a specific Ecclesia. The menorah is in gold which means the Ecclesia needs to be glorified; needs to think and act according to the image of the Father and not according to any other image. Yeshua is the servant lamp and we are the branches. The menorah is one beaten work – it is ONE piece – and we as the body of the Messiah, as the Ecclesia, need to be of one accord regarding our vision and our values. The menorah looks more like a tree with 6 branches to the outside than the way we usually see it in pictures. Because the Bible doesn’t tell us exactly what it looks like, we can interpret it for ourselves, but seeing that the Bible speaks of branches and almonds, we have opted for a tree-like appearance.

Meaning of the numbers
4 of each on the servant lamp and 4 of each on each branch speaks about Yeshua becoming man on earth (entering through the door) and becoming the door for us so that we can enter into fruitfulness.
On the branches we only find 3 of each to signify that we have been made spirit, soul and body in the image of God and my spirit has already been reborn, my mind has to be renewed and my body has to be brought as a sacrifice of obedience, where I subject myself completely to the Spirit of God. When I allow all of that to happen, I can shine forth light through my spirit, my soul and my body.
Material
Pure gold
The Process
Oil is put into the lamps every day and flax strips are put inside and lit. The lamps burnt continuously.
Scriptures
Exodus 25:31-40 (KJV)
“31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
32 And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side:
33 Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.
34 And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.
35 And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick.
36 Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.
37 And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.
38 And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold.
39 Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.
40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.”
Numbers 8:2-3 (KJV)
2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Exodus 27:21 (NIV)
Aaron and his sons must keep the lamps burning in the Tent of Meeting. The lamps will be outside the curtain that is in front of the tablets of the covenant. The lamps must be kept burning in my sight from evening until morning. That is a law for the people of Israel that will last for all time to come.
Applied Spiritual value to our lives
The menorah speaks about me coming into unity with God and my brothers and sisters in the body of the Messiah and bearing fruit (almond) from God’s image (gold) eternally (talent). It’s about consecrating my life unto Him and letting my light shine continually, using fresh oil every day. On all the branches we find fruit which represent the fact that God has called us to be fruitful (bowls, knobs and flowers). I need to make Yeshua the Messiah of my life and through the power of the Holy Spirit, who is my Comforter, I can live in my anointing on a daily base through an eternal lifestyle of worship. Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
The menorah is connected to the third of six foundations of our faith in Hebrews 6:1, which is “doctrine of the baptisms” and it is the only place in the Bible where the plural is used for baptism. There are 4 baptisms that every believer has to experience:
- The baptism in the Messiah – the flax wick lies in the oil and we need to soak in Who the Messiah is and live from that.
- The water baptism – Dying with the Messiah and being resurrected with Him; exactly that which happens in the outer court at the brazen altar and the laver.
- The baptism in the Holy Spirit – I receive power and am then anointed so that I can fulfill my God given task on earth.
- The baptism into His sufferings – so that we can be heirs and joint-heirs with Him (Yeshua) as it is written in Romans 8:17.
