We do not have a lot of information. We know that the basin consists of two pieces: a basin and a base and that it must be made of brass and brass mirrors.
The basin was made in a round shape of brass with brass mirrors on the inside.

Measurements
No measurements are given to us. We decided to make the basin 5 cubits in diameter x 1 cubit deep.
Meaning of the numbers
We decided to make the basin 5 cubits in diameter x 1 cubit deep. There are no instructions, so we opted for these measurements because of what the numbers represent. 1 cubit represents the revelation I have about God’s glory and about who God is in my life. We made the base 1 cubit high and together with the basin it’s 2 cubits high, because we are, and I am, His house. As a bride (5 cubits in diameter) we need to live from the revelation He tells, gives and shows us through the water of His Word. Brass is mixed with gold: A suffering needs to take place in our thinking, where we die to self and take up His glory (the gold in the mirror) in our lives

Brass mirrors
When a priest looked into the water of the basin, he was able to see himself in the mirror of which the basin was made. He saw himself clothed in his priestly garments with a turban around his head, which means that he saw himself the way God sees him: as clothed in righteousness. That brought about a change in his mindset. In 2 Corinthian 3:18 we read about this process: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
Exodus 30:17-21
17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.
19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:
20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the Lord:
21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
Exodus 38:8
8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the looking glasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Applied Spiritual value to our lives
The laver is connected to the second of six foundations of our faith in Hebrews 6:1, which is “faith toward God”. When I look into the water, into His Word, which is not only the Bible but also the Living Water, which is Yeshua, I can see His righteousness in which He has clothed me, and I am renewed in my mind. I do not walk in righteousness completely yet, but I receive a revelation (1) about the righteousness and can start to connect it to my lifestyle. I have a belt around my loins which means, that the direction of my life needs to be determined by the revelation I have on who Yeshua is. It is not something that happens once, it’s something I work out in my life through the renewing of my mind and through overcoming constantly. At the brazen altar I die to self and at the laver I am resurrected into His image – again and again. I become convinced about who He is and am changed from glory to glory to glory by hearing His Word.
